Betsyw , i planted my Blackberry Nip rose today , so if you have one and have planted it , it will be interesting to see how they go in different parts of the country , i did make a bit of a botch planting it though , couldn't quite get the level right and kept moving the bl---dy thing , but its in and looks good . Anybody else out there planted B.N. , i'm hoping this is a great rose ....

Roseman , i read about it on the net , N.Z. bred , supposed to have good fragrance and disease resistance , nice colour , a medium sized plant , hybrid tea. The plant itself was a bugger to plant , has roots right up to the bud union , but looks a strong plant , we'll soon see hey !!!

Has anyone have BNip thats being in the ground for at least 18mths to 2yrs that can make a valid comment on how the rose performs and the quality of blooms...

Neptune , i don't know how long this rose has been released for , i first saw it this year at Melb flower show , the blurb sounded very impressive , they didn't have a rose there that i remember , just lots of big posters , that i can remember , its such a big day at the flower show , so much there to look at ..

David, I picked up on Maree's cue here. She mentioned it in one of the threads about her new acquisitions, and, knowing that M is a fragrance hound, I just followed the scent, in all respects.

Cursory investigation around the usual rosey haunts yielded some very nice remarks about BN. I liked it a lot on paper and in theory, and thought it would be fun to acquire it ( around August), and then compare notes with Maree during the season. Will pot mine, so really a specimen in trial. Fun, see? Laughing

Lol Betsy , seems you are getting to know me too well , any rose that didn't have a fragrance got the heave-ho in my garden , i'm ruthless like that , i too have tried the ,put it in a pot and trial it before planting , but now i get too impatient and just bung it in , sometimes i think my planting technique leaves a lot to be desired ,but lets just get it in , so we can get some flowers ASAP ,keeping my fingers crossed on this one !!!!!
