Sweet Juliet.
I was telling you the other day David when we were talking about D.A's , about my Sweet Juliet bush.
While I was out roaming around with the camera this morning , I clicked off a happy snap for you , so you get some idea of it's size .

Now this always makes me laugh when I read it , but in my '93 edition of English Roses , it is described as growing 120cm high and 90cm wide , and recommended as being planted as a group of 3.
If I planted 3 , they'd swallow the house.

You posted at the same time as me.
Thank you .
I am making David a lunch pack and sending him up to the main road to meet the Lorry to guide it to our place.
They look like great plants
I dont know how to thank you.

Re: Sweet Juliet.
Juliet has just been sitting on me knee reading all this and cackling her head off.
It will be 11 years next Wednesday [14th] since this rosebush was proudly presented to me at Bunbury Regional Hospital by my sister when she came to visit her new niece.
Gave us a bit of a giggle when one of the nurses said
"blimey most people are happy with a bunch of roses - you've got the whole bleedin' bush !"
Well it stayed in a pot till mid way through 2005 and to give you an idea of what sort of ground it was planted into ; it's just behind the tomato plant that is growing in the righthandside foreground.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Sweet Juliet.
Juliet, looks like she is having a lovely time and I am so pleased that now she is a big girl she is enjoying the forum
You could put a lot of roses on that cart of yours.
By the way David is still waiting for the lorry to arrive

Re: Sweet Juliet.
That truck will take over six days to get there and then they have to stop and water it so it doesn't stress out...park it in the shade during the hot hours..so many different things to do , to keep it in good condition for you...it takes time...

Ok,
I have got David home now so he can go to work in the morning.
So what day should I send him back to sit on the side of the road

Re: Sweet Juliet.
I have a rectangular shaped bush of Sally Holmes. The english rose book described it as a small to medium grower so I tucked it in next to Archduc Joseph and another huge tea. To get through the garden I have had to constantly cut Sally Holmes back on both sides! I would love to shift her out to be a speciment plant but my resident mower man would not approve as he enjoys an unobstructed ride on the John Deere and is not prepared to duck and weave around those bloomin'roses. The kikuyu is growing so fast that he has to mow every four or five days. Toowoomba is no longer in drought.
