Canadian roses Empty Canadian roses

Post by Bonita18 4th February 2012, 22:26

I have received a request from the National Roses Canada secretary to see if the rose 'Ardelia' which was bred by the Canadian breeder, Miss Isabella Preston, is available anywhere in Australia.
The aim is in this year which is the centenary of Miss Preston's birth to set up a rose, lilac, iris garden in Guelph, Ontario and so the search is in progress to find her roses, lilacs and iris. It is believed by the Canadians that 'Ardelia' is still grown in Australia. I have checked the Aust Rose Directory 1999 and also the 1998/1999 catalogue of roses grown by David Ruston. But alas, Ardelia is not listed there. It is white and singly.

Can anyone help? The rose is described on HMF.
