We sure have had some fantastic rain, with more to come today we hope. This is the first rain we have had since the 5th so it has been very, very dry here.
Now we will be able to pull up some weeds

Hoping Balinbear's garden isn't drowned. And others in SE Q.

We are ok. We've only recieved about 250mm (Caloundra which is about 15 mks away recieved 320mm) on Tuesday. Just our usual wet season. The river flooded but we are well above that.

The new drains I put in over Christmas helped but a couple got washed out in one of the heavy storms.

The roses don't seem to worry about the rain. Some sit in water for weeks but keep on going fine.

Gary, we are pleased you are alright.
I didn't realise that you are close to Caloundra. I spent quite a lot of time there when my Dad lived there and he managed the golf club at Alexanda Headlands near Maroochidoor. Please excuse spelling , not good with place names.

Yeah Carole we are west of Caloundra about 15kms more or less just before you start to go up the range to Maleny and Montville.

We did have our office in Maroochydore but have since moved it to Warana which is about half way between Caloundra and Maroochydore.

Thanks Margaret. Here at Highfields near Toowoomba we have only received about 70mms in the past week during the much heavier rainfall nearer the coast. We are 130kms inland and 700metres above sea level. However I am thrilled with this gentle soaking of the garden.
Climbing Guinee is just spilling over the fence into the park next door and Madam Berard is covered in blooms, some of which are balling of course. Duchess DÁuerstadt is just glorious. Today I picked Talisman, Kathleen Kellahan and Red Intuition (Tiger). Also Elina and a new one from Bunnings called Marie Luise Marjan is spraling everywhere.

looks interesting. Are there any hips on the plant you just purchased?
Like the look of Clg Guinee 1938 Charles Mallerin. I have just started to
research Charles Mallerin bred roses. The only one I have is 'Charles
Mallerin' which I bought this Spring with blooms on 12" canes. It now has water shoots 5' high.

My only regret is not finding roses when 8 to 10 years of age. I am trying to find youngsters to start them into roses.

Surprise, surprise, it's still pouring rain

Raining again roses are getting some BS put will get past it, a lot are not though which is good to find out which ones are BS resistant. Nmabour flooded Tues night, washed away the fence and some industrial bins from my work. Hope we don't get much more the creek is up again this morning so will have to keep an eye on it.

Hot and dry here the last few days.
Which is good - it's giving the BS a flogging.

Simon, what an about turn! Bone dry in Tassie and wet as a rainforrest in Sydney & surrounds and much of the east coast of Australia I believe. We also have rain forcast for the next week and cool weather to go with it. All in the garden are loving the rain except for the Prostanthera, which is getting a little too much courtesy of the neighbours unfinished carport! The camillia Japonica on the other hand, is putting on a fresh new set of buds? I wonder if they'll actually mature to bloom?
