The main concept missing is that roses have a temperature dependent virus immune system (which was not known in 1983).

THANKS HENRY! Do you have any further information relating to heat treatment, equipment, methods etc.

I am hopeful of heat treating plants showing RMV this summer. I was going to start at 45C for 30 days then graft buds from that plant onto seed raised Multiflora. Just a little concerned how plants will tolerate those high temperatures.

Heat treatment and then a bud graft may only reduce the virus concentration below the detection limit of the detection method.
