Great excitement first hand pollinated hips.
I'm expecting because I have two really big hips on Don Juan pollinated by yours truely with Brindabella Bouquet pollen. They are like wallnuts in size and are nearly as nice looking as Elle McPhersons hips.
I have a feeling they will be fertile so will just have to keep watch until next September, but in the meantime do everything right.
Have had open mated seedlings over the past 2 years but these hopefully will be my first hand pollinated.

Congrats Bruce. Have you done any test germinations of OP hips from 'Don Juan' yet?
Re: Great excitement first hand pollinated hips.
No not exactly but did have some in the open pollinated batch which was a real mixture to try my seed raising skills. Did these to Henry Koska's seed raising methods and had very good results . Currently they are in 4" pots ready to be planted in the ground after the heat of summer. All have had blooms, some look good now all the poor stunted ones have been removed.
Karen I have moved the ones on the window sill into 4" pots and are outside under leafy cover.

Wedge ,I'd tell you about Elle Mcphersons hips but don't want to get over excited and put extra strain on our hearts.
This also proves you never lose it as long as you live.
