Well.. the roses are starting to arrive... still waiting on many though...

Adding these to the collection this year:

Rosa gigantea - has arrived and is a nice strong looking plant.
Rosa bracteata - has arrvied and is a cutting grown plant that I am really looking forward to using over the next few years.
'Ebb Tide' - arrived
'Many Happy Returns' - arrived - this is a bracteata hybrid descended from 'Mermaid'... really looking forward to seeing how this one turns out down here.
'Golden Emblem' -arrived - rare old HT - lovely garish flowers Smile
'Jean Kenneally' - arrived - miniature
'Cecile Brunner' (bush) - arrived
'Safrano' - not here yet
'Euphrates' - not here yet
'Alice Amos' - not here yet
'Buff Beauty' - not here yet
'Champagner' - not here yet
'William Lobb' - not here yet
'Starina' - not here yet - minitaure
'Champagner' - not here yet - for my cut flower roses
'New Iceberg' - not here yet - cut flower
'Happy Anniversay' - not here yet - cut flower rose
'Ann Endt' - arrived
'Crepuscule' - arrived

Have been trying to order 'St Francis Xavier' (a new Australian bred Tea) and 'Francis Dubrueil' (early HT/Tea) from Ross Roses and it's proving 'difficult'.

lots of cuttings to put in as well and in excess of 1000 seeds in the fridge this year... really looking forward to next season... must be bloomin crazy LOL

Wot a list! Crazy? Yup. Shocked
How much space is all those seeds going to take Simon?
I should like the Golden Emblem, and Euphrates. Yellow and orange are for me!
I too, have ordered Ebb Tide. So has Abbi. We are in cahoots with the order because I am not getting much this season.
I couldn't resist another Julias Rose though. I now have one in the front yard as well as the back yard. Bought it bagged.
Rosette Delizy, Tea
General Schablikine, Tea
Lavender Lassie, climber
that's my list for this year.

As always Dee... what's mine is yours... when 'GE' and 'Euphrates' put some size on I'll send you some Thumbsup

The seedlings won't end up taking up too much room. In a few weeks time they'll be sown into foam fruit boxes and I will be culling them really hard and don't expect to have more than 10 left by this time next year (when it will all start again lol). Those 10 will be put into beds and evaluated further and culled again... as they mature. The rugosa seedlings might be a pain because they can take a few years to flower... so will need to keep most of these unless they are obvioulsy poor doers.

Its a rainy day here in Lonnie so what does any self respecting gardener do on a rainy sat. morning? Do the rounds of the nurseries in town of course. Came back with Redoubt and a Mary Magdalene (both DA's) plus a few bits and bobs.

Oh and yesterday I bought 10 bagged Iceberg, decided to do the iceberg hedge after all hehe

Really wish it would stop raining so I can start digging up the back yard to have somewhere to put all these roses. lol!
