what do I need to do?
Before I decided to grow roses, the yard was a piece of grass. My question is this: I need to pull the grass aside or leave the grass as fertilizer.

Re: what do I need to do?
Not sure how you want to do it...... are you asking to take the grass away and make a garden bed or are you asking to make circles in your grass area to put the rose bush in....
Me personally......I would make garden beds with absolute no grass in them for the roses to compete against
