Pot size
Hi all, been a while since I have posted as I haven't much to contribute, but I still like to check to see what's going on.
I do finally have a question if anyone can tell me. I have several roses in pots sizes about 50cm x50cm give or take.
My question is, is this big enough for hybrid teas such as Double delight, Fairy tale Queen, etc.
I am hoping to move house eventually so will not be planting them as I want to take them with me.
They are going ok, and my thoughts were if I do manage to get them in the ground eventually (couple of years) will the growth improve or after spending much time in a pot, stay the same?
cheers and thanks in advance.

Re: Pot size
Hi Happy....the pot size is not a problem and will last for a couple of years in a pot that size......if it seems that the bush is going backwards, lift it out in the cooler months, de-thatch the roots, top up with fresh soil and put the bush back in.
Just to show you how versatile the rose bushes are, I have a full grown "Just Joey" sitting on top of the garden soil in the small original pot that it came from the nursery in(approx. 10in tall and 6in wide at the top). All it gets from me is water and any nutrients it gets is from some half a dozen fibrous roots that have escaped from the bottom of the plastic pot

Re: Pot size
Thanks, is it ok to trim the roots? They fill the pot.

Re: Pot size

Re: Pot size
Ok happy, due to lack off space I have about 30 roses in pots. 50cm is ample, they should last a lifetime in that size pot. Just re-pot ever 3-4 years. Imo
Re: Pot size
Hi Paul, I've seen the pics of your roses and I can see how well they grown. When checking out your website, I read the formula you used for potting mix and plan to follow it when I re-pot.
