I will add more tonight,

I attended the offical launch of a spectacular rose, Saturday just gone at Swane's Nurseries Australia, it is named here in Australia as, "The Golden Child", The rose was bred by Christian Bedard from Weeks Roses, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] The rose has a nice soft fragrance and a very good yellow colour, it is said, if you like 'Friesia' you will like this rose. $10 from the sale of this rose goes to the, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which helps children with different forms of desease.. Regards David & Carole.

Here are a couple of shots,
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
In this shot you can see the most amazing young man in a wheel chair, no ordinary chair, if you notice, Liam is standing, he plays soccer in it, wheel stands it, this chair has given Liam outstanding mobility, the chair is what the Foundation do, raise monies for Children like Liam, this one cost $14'000, Liam is a character, if you can see it, check out his thumb position.
The shot below is of another young fella named Peter also a great fellow with a better outlook in life due to the Foundation, Peter is watering 'The Golden Child' in a pot prior to the official planting of the rose.

These are wonderful David - many apologies, I mistook this topic for one from Doug!! The Golden Child 562592572 (Allowed!)
This is a very worth fundraising "scheme". (Sorry, can't think of a better word! - It's the heatwave we are having nere at the moment!)
How are the children chosen for funding?

Of Course! I know all about this fellow! Just didn't realise it as the same charity you were referring to. Does some tremendous work! The Golden Child 3318427985
In the Lions club, some years ago, we raised money for this I'm fairly sure!

The first blooms from our newly planted "The Golden Child", admittedly it was in a pot,
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
You can see how it gets it's colour from "Soul Mate"

SueH, The colour is much better, far more golden than the picture. David had to take the picture at about 12.30 lunchtime and it had the full sun on it. We love the rose.

Yes it is (was) Sue.
This morning Benny, (goat) decided to do a little pruning and ate the flowers along with other flowers in that garden. Cursing Very Sad At least he doesn't eat the plant only the flowers.

On the subject of yellow roses the AQ and I are just back from the Australian Championships in Adelaide where I saw some magnificent exhibits of Gold Bunny.
