?? Seafoam??
Has anyone grown this rose? I am thinking about planting the climbing form. It rather reminds me of an Albertine - perhaps a little paler! BUT, it is recurrent!

Re: ?? Seafoam??
I haven't grown it (or anything else for that matter) but it's not fragrant, which is a big no-no for me.
If I was going to plant a smaller, remontant version of Albertine, I would choose the hybrid musk Cornelia. But that's just me
Here she is:

Cornellia is a nice rose, great perfume and flowers quite a bit but is no match for an Albertine in full flush. The once a year flush is well worth waiting for.

I do agree Garry! I'm weakening after seeing an Albertine today at Masters. Off Topic I know, but I bought Heart of Gold climber. Just wanted a "yellow" to brighten up a corner!

Our Seafoam is a very old white standard and has a long flowering season. Spring, summer and through to early winter on a good year. Albertine is a very pretty pink and rambles along a fence but only spring flowering although will spot flower through summer.

Enabler: one who enables another to persist in self-destructive behaviour by providing excuses or by making it possible to avoid the consequences of such behavior.
Example: giving advice on a particular rose to an addict by offering an alternative so they end up having to have both

By offering advice, does one have to suffer if it goes wrong down the track , if a suggestion is made and the person on the other end goes that way, does that relinquish the enablers responsibility

As you know David, members of the fairer sex are never wrong. So if I buy a fabulous rose based on your recommendation, I should certainly expect you all to sing my praises for making an excellent decision. But if I buy a dog of a rose on your say so, I would be well within my rights to call down fire and brimstone upon your head
It's a treacherous business, gents

So in all this I assume males assume they are right, but, we have to relinquish this once a woman comes into the conversation. Here endith my sermon. Woman win whilst talking to them.
