Fiona's Wish Empty Fiona's Wish

Post by paulh 23rd May 2014, 22:10

Does anybody grow this rose, my local Dawson's recon it is a leggy spindly grower that doesn't fill out. Hmmm I would love feedback on growth habits, blooms and foliage please, I'm in mind to buy it but will take on your advice. Thanks

Paul, ours was a lovely bush, with big and fragrant blooms. Only downside was that the blooms didn't last a day.....when you cut them....

Sir Cliff Richards is said to be a very leggy rose.

They are okay. Not as good as some. I don't always pay attention.... Just pick a bunch of roses from the garden and then plonk them in a vase. Razz

Fiona's Wish Empty Re: Fiona's Wish

Post by hariet~rose 27th May 2014, 21:36

I first came across Fiona's Wish at the Adelaide Botanic Garden in Nov. 2012. I was really taken with how the rose just stood out, particularly in a group of several plants. It is on my list but I need to wait until i can get a bed ready that can take 3-5 of them.
Which is just plain greedy really...

It was interesting to note Fiona's Wish isn't a renamed rose as many of the roses for a cause are but  rose bred by Alain Meilland and released in 2001 as Fiona's Wish.
