Ok what tha, worms
I had to repot a rose today, would you believe it, there was a big worm in the potting mix. Now i know you get worms in the garden, but pots!
Is this a good thing????

Place your pots on the ground and keep weeds from growing over the top of the pot. Grass growth around the pot is beneficial as it keeps the roots cool.
If the pots have been given a lot of organic things like old manure, fish emulshon etc the worms will go up through the drainage holes to feed on all the goodies in the pot.
Pots on concrete or weed mat don't usually have worm activity.
Worm tea from castings makes a great foliar spray.
