Guy Savoy
Yesterday I purchased Guy Savoy the Delbard rose from Bartons Rose Farm at Kalbar, Qld. All the plants had huge thick canes and looked to be a very vigorous variety. Does anyone grow this rose and please tell me warts 'n all what you think about it. My climate is mild temperate with great red volcanic soil which does not hold water very well.

Re: Guy Savoy
Hi Bonita, it looks similar to my Delbard, but mine was mislabelled so I can't be sure Mine is very very healthy, it's in the front yard with not so good soil and is growing like crazy after the rain. Took it a few months to take off but now I look at it every time I drive in and out of the driveway and admire it Never had any problems with aphids (even next to Paris 2000 which frequently gets visits from the nasty buggers), no black spot. Not really any scent, but the flowers so beautiful I don't mind. The flowers sort of turn orange in the sun which gives a nice two tone lot of flowers all the time.
