Ear Wigs Ugggghhhhh !!!!!!!
Every year i seem to have a problem with ear wigs and along with white-tail spiders they are the things i am most terrified of , to the point of paranoia . The horrible things get in the petals of the roses and hide and when you put them in a vase they crawl out . I have googled it and have tried the rolled up newspaper at night time but i haven't caught any . Any suggestions !!!!! Thanks ...

Re: Ear Wigs Ugggghhhhh !!!!!!!
We have heaps of the things and last year they destroyed our cherry crop overnight.
I find they love to collect in the close-fitting pot saucers. The chooks love it when I take them a saucer full of crawlies. Heh.
The traps I'm going to try this year will involve either takeaway food containers or those specialised snail trap containers. A centimetre or two of vegetable oil (and maybe soy sauce added as well) does the trick for attracting and drowning the little beggars.

Maree the newspaper has to be quite wet, rollit up loosely so they can get in easily, early in the morning just check and put into plastic bags and tie then bin.
