Flowering times for climbers/ramblers
I have an idea... (some of the most dangerous words in the world... lol)
It involves roses. And bees.
I want bees to enjoy my garden as much as possible and we do have a lot of plants that are useful in terms of pollen and nectar.
BUT.... I'd like to expand the rosey-capacity for the bees.
'Wedding Day' is a very successful rose for the bees to harvest. Of course, as a single flush rose, it only provides that food for a small (relatively) time period.

So that got me thinking... Do all single-flush ramblers flower pretty much at the same time??
Can I have a range of varieties that will provide a sequence of flowering for a substantial period??
Suggestions, please!!

Re: Flowering times for climbers/ramblers
Since they re-bloom out in the open and weather conditions beholding every 42-55 days ...I think quicker in QLd.......then you can adjust your flushes thru pruning....turn your bush into quarters and then prune that quarter of a bush 7-10 days apart.......that way , while some of the bush is flowering the other parts is growing new blooms....do it to all bushes and you are never without a bloom......

Wendy Laevigata is the first to bloom, Mermaid in Deni will start blooming in about 3wks.

Thanks for that tip, John!
Warren, that's interesting. Sounds like both are before Wedding Day then as it doesn't have buds on it yet although the Multiflora does.
How does this look:
Laevigata
Multiflora
Mermaid
Wedding Day

Wendy, the 'multiflora' is it a rose in it's own right or rootstock.
