Don't know if any one here may have been or may be affected [or infected] by this 'nother little internet nasty.

Ok Rosalie,
Do you think your computer may have been 'infected'.
Have you used the software ? and did it find anything.
I guess what I am asking is should we all use it incase. The other thing that comes to mind, will it also pick up any other 'malware' issues.
As you can see this stuff is not my domain, but if good I will follow
Regards David.

John, I thought the idea of an external drive was like cd/dvd. Mine is set to back up every morning

Logging onto the Aus. Gov site tells me that my computer isn't affected .
I'm not techo minded at all so I don't thoroughly understand the Age article .
What I was wondering is it something that affects ordinary 'puter users or is it something that is a problem for people who have their own website/domain ?

I have an external hard drive that I back up my photo's to each month ; I learnt the hard way what little fiddly fingers can do when tapping randomly away.
Mr Matthew's geeky tendencies were already in evidence at around age 20 months lol.
[and he certainly didn't inherit those from his mother roflmao ]

your external drive is a external hard drive and not a dvd recorder. They are not reliable and a bump or knock can kill it. Just remember your external is the same as your internal and is subject to the same conditions. An dvd recorder you can save to disk and can take it out of the machine and it can be saved for a long time.....

Ah Ha. Now I think the last time I [Kevin] had work done on my 'puter , there was a DVD writable [dunno if that is the lingo] thingy to replace the C.D one.

So I have to copy my files off to a disc , yes ?
