I'm from Slovenia, near slovenian coast. My English is not perfect, but you will understand me. My passion with roses started 2 years ago. In the beggining my interes was on old roses and English Roses. At this time I have 93 sort of different roses and this spring some new will come.
From beggining (how funny) I was curious what breeding roses is. In the beggining I practice first with OP seeds. I have some germinations Smile . I also polinated some seeds from other parents, but this was at the end of season.
I'm reading literature about breeding. Never enought! Neverending story.

Right now i'm reading about Hulthemia hybrids. I ordered Eyes for you.

You can see my young rose garden from 2010/2011 in MY PROFILE - WEB (12 minutes video). I couldn't put here (new member -after 7 days I can). Smile

Poesie, people across this wonderful planet converse by many means, language is one. Signs, hand gestures, spelling interpretation another. Us/we can "talk", your English is great. Can you imagime us/me trying to do this in your native language.
If I may ask, how is your name pronounced, it sounds loverly.

Try like Poesy (just diferent word). There are also roses with this name.
But my nick name was from slovenian word for Poesy = Poezija. Poezija was our horse.

Hello,
A very warm welcome from me,
You come from such a pretty part of the world, so many castles which I love, forests but so much snow in winter lol!
I came to Australia to get away from the cold Shivering
I am English and if I am right, which maybe I am not, my spelling would be Posy (small bunch of flowers)

Thank you for your warm welcome.
Carole, at us it is not so cold, (we are near sea), so we are almost without snow in the winter.
Today was 17 °C - spring will come in few days.

Hello Poezija . I would love you to tell us about your horse too.
The little pic that you have chosen for your avatar looks so much like my glorious Pat Austin.
How do well do you find that the D.A English Roses , cope with your environment and growing conditions.

It's fantastic having rose growers join us from other parts of the world ; makes life interesting.

cheers. Rosalie

HI,

Roseman: temperature in Slovenia - at us where I live in winter usually always + ,(not -). This year in februar we had -8 °C - but just a few days. In the summer average temperature is 25 - 30 °C.
Hi Estate, Ozroz,
ozRose, you can see just picture of our horse Poezija from the past (I must scan it).
I LOVE David Austin's roses and they do excellent here! More in the future on other post, I must look where to open new post first. On avatar picture is my Pat Austin.
Hi Alle, warm regards to you - Maldivi oooh....

Thanks Poesie, I thought it would be colder. "Thought" can get us into trouble, should have "googled" Slovenia and the history and climate details, silly me. Dooh
