ID of a bug

These have turned up this year in the hundreds.
Any one know what it is. They seem to prefer the lighter coloured roses, and don't seem to be on other flowers.
Size wise it is about a one quarter of a bee.

I'm having trouble seeing what kind of beetle you have in the photo. Is it something like this:

I took this photo this afternoon because I am getting my annual plague of them too. They only go after the roses with perfume and the light coloured roses. Here they also smother the buddleja.

The top pix of Tinpot's is a Hibiscus beetle which arrives by the thousands. These burrow into the blooms between the petals and as mentioned like the pale colours. For that reason I have very few white roses.

Simons pix (Don't know their name) but are mostly found on the top of the bloom. I have a white minature here they love to sit on 10 to the bloom.

They will go away as the season changes and arrive back again early Summer.

Went to a nursery yesterday and nothing moves not even a Ladybird. There was a very strong smell of pestercides and fungus chemicals. Health wise, give me the beetles anyday.

I don't spray at all and most pots have quite a few worms present. Underneath each pot there are a lot of worms. Surprising, my roses look healthier than the ones at the nursery visited yesterday.

Thanks for that. Just googled them now that I have a name. I'll try the different methods at getting rid of them.
