RMV or not?
Am keeping more of an eye out for RMV this year.
I had noted last year that my 'Lilac Rose' (purchased 2009?) looked infected.
What do you think?
Exhibit A: 'Lilac Rose'

Exhibit B: 'Grace'

Exhibit C: 'Quatre Saisons'

Re: RMV or not?
Wendy, Simon, could this be the same as Bonita is experiencing
The other option would be place these pictures on RHA if you this might work Simon. Wendy just to fill you in there is a USA site that Simon and I are members of that might be able to get you the answer if that is ok, regards David.

Re: RMV or not?
I'll try to take some better pics of the Quatre Saisons. They're older leaves (now) so are starting to show up more weather damage in addition to the discoloration.

Re: RMV or not?
I was wondering if it was a deficiency cf. RMV. Some older leaves. Doesn't appear to be coming through now on newer leaves. Our soil is so acid I do know there are some marginal trace element issues for the sheep.

Re: RMV or not?
The answer for the first two is clear... that's classic rmv unfortunately. Quatre Saisons might be infected but I find it hard to tell from these symptoms. RMV can cause vein clearing like this but so does some nutrient deficiencies. I was reading recently about nutrient deficiencies in citrus and it said that vein clearing can occur in citrus that are suddenly deprived of nitrogen, however, vein clearing is often the result of rmv.

Re: RMV or not?
To the best of your knowledge Simon, would it not hurt for Wendy to purchase some Iron Chelates to do a test and see if the plant recovers or goes on getting "RMV". Just my thoughts

Re: RMV or not?
And I actually don't think Iron deficiency is something we worry about here. More likely to need Ca, P, K and S... hehe
