OK TheE... please don't cry :(
my 'Children's Rose' got attacked today. These blooms opened beautifully this morning. By this afternoon look at them

Last pic is an unknown white/pink rose that I'm in the process of rescuing.. looks pretty sad atm but will pick up I think (if the beetles leave them alone that is). This is what it is meant to look like Luckily the beetles don't stay very long. They don't seem to eat the flower, they just walk all over it and trample them. They leave the non-scented flowers alone.

Re: OK TheE... please don't cry :(
I'm not TheE.. they don't last long and there will be more flowers... it's my own fault really. Last year I had plague proportions of these beetles too but I had a very large buddleja around they went to instead of the roses. This year I had cut most of the buddleja down to try and rejuvenate it and I have very few flowers this year so they are looking for something else... So I next year when the buddleja is bigger again they will have an alternative location to go to and leave my roses alone
