So hot
Yesterday at 4pm it was 46.8 C , the main Street into town, the bitumen started to melt. At 11:15 am today it was 45C, this is how I water in the riverina.

Re: So hot
blimey that is hot.. your roses look none the worse for the heat though.. how often do you water that way? It is hot on the northern tablelands too (although we won't hit 40 C) but the worse of it is that we are not getting the rain - we get most of our annual fall in summer.. maybe when the wet season breaks up north it will filter down here..

Re: So hot
Hariet the temperature outside just hit 48.8 C. The roses are doing ok as long as they don't dry out, watering like this in these temps is twice a week. During a normal summer once a week is enough.

Show-off.
I'm glad it's only sitting around 39C here.
I just hosed the dogs off. Tonight will be cooler - and the roses will get a hand watering. No flood irrigation on THIS slope. LOL

Re: So hot
48.8 C .. that is way to hot ozroz ..the irrigation channels are a great idea.. it is only 29 C here right now BUT our golden retriever will need a bath soon as we haven't been able to get rid of her winter coat fully

Re: So hot
I think you need to move that thermometer...! One presumes you have aircon and are too sensible to be out in it.Ozroz wrote:Hariet you reckon 48.8 is hot , it has just hit 50.6 C
Temp peaked at 40C here. (42C in Benalla). Plenty hot enough for me!
