Re: Luck of the AQ
Ausrose wrote:Today the AQ and I were waiting in the Penrith RSL Club on results of some scans I had earlier in the day. As is the usual case the AQ asked whether I minded if she left me alone and she gave her usual $50 a run. Yes you guessed she returned with $355 which gave her a profit of $305. The luck of the AQ continues. or is it luck.
It's all how you hold you mouth.

Hopefully David she is just loosing the machines up for Carol.
On a serious note with respect to the scans they related to my brush with prostate cancer 8yrs ago and were clear. Males over 40yrs should have PSA TESTS included in regular blood tests. If you are in this age category and haven't had such tests regularly you should as they may save your life as they did mine.

Re: Luck of the AQ
The AQ dropped her weekly $50 allotment at the local golf club tonight but all was not lost as I won 4 meat trays in the numbers game. It looks like the AQ and I will be hosting an Australia Day bbq at which the Australian Bred Rose of the Year will be announced.

Re: Luck of the AQ
Maybe it was change of club Doug that did it, as long as the luck comes back when we come down. Nice pick up for the BBQ.
I think the Governor will come thru as the winner.

Won $500 at the local sports club after dinner. The luck continues or is it luck?

Re: Luck of the AQ
Do you ever noticed that when you want or need something in your life, it comes to you in what ever way and once that need is fulfilled or nearly fulfilled, your luck or need goes away till next time. Do you ever noticed that everyone wants the big lotto win, but it is hard to fill 20 plus million peoples wishes at the same time.......Oh well...at least I win it in my dreams.....

Re: Luck of the AQ
I tend to believe the less content you are with your life the more you would like a game changer such as a big win to break the cycle. From what I have read many of these type of people who do strike it rich squander their win and finish off worse than they were before the win.

Re: Luck of the AQ
At the local club golf club they have a $500 birthday draw at the end of the month for those who have a birthday during the month. The condition being you have to be in the clubhouse to collect the $500 if your name is drawn. If you aren't present there is a redraw and this continues until there is a winner. As my birthday was earlier in the month I was in the draw. Unfortunately I missed out but all was not lost as the AQ won $900 on the poker machines in a ten minute period just before we left to come home.

We have but not for about four years. We have always liked it there as the hotel (Novetel)is sort of part of the club. So we book in to a show, this time it is the searchers, the hotel and breakfast.

How is the AQ's luck going ?
I should add that the Searchers show is the reason we are going.

Re: Luck of the AQ
Hi Carole,
To get to Rooty Hill you need to go close past our place at Emu Plains if you have time to call in during the morning I have a few roses in pots for David. To get to our place you leave the highway at the base of mountain turning left onto Russell St. Proceed along Russel St turn right into Forbes St (second st along). Proceed down Forbes St past the church and schools to the grey house on your left.
Doug.
